90 Days that Shook the World!
The most dangerous 90-days in Maryland are well under way - The General Assembly 90-day Session!
New regulations, fees and taxes are being proposed that will make it harder for you and your neighbors to balance your budget - a budget already strained by the unending Great Recession.
Here are the latest 2013 proposals from the folks who control Annapolis:
- Increase in the Gas Tax from 23.5 cents per gallon to 38.5 cents per gallon - making Maryland's gas tax one of the highest in the Nation!
- Expanding the sales taxes to snack foods - of all things!
- Attacking the Second Amendment- including "fees" - on lawful gun owners!
Don't forget that in 2012, they:
- Doubled the Flush Tax
- Increased the Income Tax - Retroactively!
- Increased Fees on Death Certificates - proving that in the state of Maryland, even death doesn't protect you from higher taxes!

If these increases are approved - and chances are they will be - then every Maryland family will face the harsh reality that they will have less to spend on the necessities, and even fewer dollars going into savings.
It is uniquely American that every generation has the opportunity at a better life than the generation that preceded it. But for the first time in our history, that is no longer the case.
If Annapolis continues to take more and more of your hard-earned money, then I can promise you the legacy left to your children and grandchildren will be one fueled by record debt and bigger government.
It's time to move Maryland in the right direction and ensure that our future generations have greater opportunities by putting our faith in Maryland's workers instead of the government.
Yours in service,
Mark N. Fisher
